Patrick Blunt Models (PBM) 1/150th scale (41 3/4”) County-class Guided Missile Destroyer.
Built c1980 as D12 HMS Kent. Some photographs from IWM included.
Fitted with two electric motors and a speed controller, makes unknown as no names are visible without removing them from the boat.
Currently no radio is installed but it was originally fitted with Acoms AP-227 2ch proportional 27MHz AM, dry battery. This radio may be available if required.
The model has never been further than the bath where it was discovered it needed substantial ballast - 6lbs, I think, which it said quite clearly in the instructions! It is not known if this was ever done but suspected not.
Again it has been kept indoors, not in a shed or garage.
YU-CAN 1/8th scale MG Sports Car. (TD style)
Built early 1980s. Electric-powered with vac-form body, painted dark red internally, and aluminium chassis.
Fitted with Acoms AP-227 2ch proportional 27MHz AM, dry battery radio.
It has only been used a few times and not at all for at least 32 years.
Always kept indoors, not in a shed or garage.
Eleck Rider 1/6th scale R/C motorcycle and rider.
c1980? Manufactured by Kyosho in Japan and sold under various names in different markets such as Graupner - like this one - in Europe and Kraft in America.
It is boxed and believed to be complete.
Fitted with Acoms AP-227 2ch proportional 27MHz AM, dry battery radio, with the receiver in the rider.
The vac-form bodywork is painted internally in Humbrol metallic blue, although quite a lot has chipped off the fairing, presumably because the paint wasn’t flexible.
It was used literally once or twice over 35 years ago and has been in the box, indoors, ever since.
